OK, look, we all like to pretend that we're genuinely thinking about which starter pokemon to pick at the beginning of the game, but you know you're just looking at the other two to be polite. You're going to pick charmander because charmander becomes charmeleon, charmeleon becomes charizard, and charizard is the coolest pokemon there is. It's just a fact. But if it weren't for the clear type advantage in picking a fire type starter to combat the abundance of bug and leaf pokemon at the start of the game, we might have chosen bulbasaur...maybe.
