Because of their shorter width, applying them more from the centre of your eye rather than the inside corner makes them much easier to use, especially for people with hooded or smaller eyes. 

To reuse, clean any glue build up off the lashes by gently rolling a cotton bud soaked in makeup remover over the band to remove and clean, then leave to dry in the case (or around a pen) to retain their shape.
