Here's your chance to get acquainted with our team of superstars!
 
Fran Robertson

Message answerer, flower crafter, and all-around boss lady of the BSD, Fran has been working as a hair and makeup artist in Auckland for over 10 years, specialising in vintage glamour for weddings and events!

A born and bred Dunedin girl, Fran chased a boy to the big city in 2009, and in 2015 married a different one, who she now lives in Mangere with, along with three rescue cats who absolutely refuse to leave her office. 

Fran's favorite step in her beauty routine is putting her eyebrows on, and her least favourite is brushing her hair at the end of the evening.

 


Kate McAulay 

Kate began her career as a makeup artist in theatre back in 2008, when she realised she wouldnt make it in Hollywood on her comedic skills alone. 

Once she left school, she freelanced for many years working on TV, movies, weddings and other events. Her freelance background came in handy when she joined the BSD in 2019, and she has since become Fran's right-hand woman for events and weddings in Auckland and all around the Upper North Island! 

Kate and her partner Logan now reside in ol' town Pukekohe where they raise a lil Bun Bun named Pineapple (who is notorious for chewing through cords of Kate's many expensive hair styling tools...) 

Kate's favourite step in her beauty routine is making that winged eyeliner fly, but her least favourite is taking all her makeup off at the end of the day!


Sarah Bauer

A friendly & bubbly hairdresser, Sarah has been part of the BSD team for a few years now & she's loving every moment! 

She's been in the hairdressing industry for 16 years and has a passion for the pinup/vintage style, as well as doing the best braids ever for some of our teeny-tiniest little customers. 

Sarah currently lives in a little place called Waipawa in the heart of the Hawkes Bay with her husband, dog, cat, kune kune pigs, chickens, and adorable ittle baby boy Max.

Her favourite step in her beauty routine is the ritual of putting her make up on in the morning, and her least favourite is washing her hair as she likes to get the most out of her hair styles!


Emma Keightley 

The queen of resting-bitch-face, Emma has been refusing to smile in photos of the BSD squad for two years now, but we don't hold that against her!

Joining the team from all the way down south in Dunedin, Emma is a car painter by day, and turns her superb skills and attention to detail towards delivering absolutely stellar hair and makeup looks for our customers at events and shows up and down the country.

A regular of the car show scene, Emma is often found checking out hot rods, scoping out the swap meets, and asking to pat stranger's dogs.


Nicole Halliday

Nicole is located on a lifestyle block in the Wairarapa.

A mother of two, when she’s not working for the BSD she’s working in Public Relations for the Defence Force and shooting in her makeover photo studio, The Fire Inside.

Nicole's favourite step of her beauty routine is putting on eyelashes, because she doesn’t believe a face is finished without falsies!
